Dear Watchers,
Your school kindly invited me to work with you to share the creation of an exhibition where the title Our, Your, Their landscapes contains the idea. I would like to propose to you to think about this vast and uncertain notion of the landscape. We won't offer definitive responses but rather a questioning of this word and our relationship with the concept. We will take advantage of the large display panels in the school's exhibition spaces to share our hypotheses. So as to inscribe this approach in the dynamic of my own work I would like to propose the following rule to you: I will establish a painted construction on the walls, a type of structure with a precarious and ambiguous equilibrium, at the heart of which I will clear large spaces so that you can insert your own points of view. In this way we will obtain a vast aberrant panorama of landscapes, as diverse and varied as you decide to make them. Your landscapes interwoven with, layered on, glued to mine. The issue at the heart of this exhibition is of course to render our dialogue possible, questioning, funny, tragic, tender, abundant, complex, strange and happy. We will essentially be using painting and drawing, directly onto the walls, or on other mediums (paper, canvas) and we will sign the work collectively.
