AN EXHIBITION AND A WORKSHOP ON THE CURRENT PRACTISE OF PAINTING
This project is proposed by Corentin Canesson and Damien Le Dévédec, two graduates from the EESAB, invited to organise two events around the practise of painting: an exhibition of three artists in the galleries of the cloister and a workshop with the students of the art option whose productions will be presented in the lodges of the cloister.
THREE ARTISTS/ THREE DIFFERENT APPROACHES
This exhibition brings together three French painters, Charlotte Houette, Romain Poussin, and Emmanuel Van der Meulen. If in principle the reunion of these three artists is in their relationship with abstraction, as the subject of a painting that we can see, the idea in reality is to reflect upon the practise of painting itself, and on a general level. The works presented are, in effect, all taken from series that are mostly peripheral to their work. These paintings function like obvious machines, studio machines.
A ROUNDTABLE WITH THE ARTISTS AND THE CURATORS
This roundtable will be an opportunity to discuss painting and relationships with painting. The three guest artists will speak about their proximity to different artistic scenes and artists involved in the issues of contemporary painting. On Thursday November 13th, at 5:30p.m. in the school auditorium and open to all (entry free to all).
A RESEARCH PROGRAMME IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ART SCHOOLS
The ensemble of the project operates within the framework of the “Réseau Peinture” research programme, to which participates the EESAB, in connection with the art schools of Valence, Bourges and Dijon, along with the University Rennes 2.
