Galerie Hotel Elysées Mermoz
Vernissage October 25th at 7p.m.
The phenomena of megalopolises particularly interests me. Their topographies in effect, like “open data” continually transforms. The “global village” is drawn, founded on new equilibriums, that seem, nonetheless, precarious.
As a painter, a part of my work consists of abstract, monumental interventions on the walls themselves, sometimes enhanced with extensions made from adhesive. During their installation I take particular note of the understanding of the place itself. These spaces that have become the medium for my geometric paintings thus reveal themselves otherwise; the feeling that the watcher perceives is modified. An architectural transformation is established, similar to urban upheavals.
At the Elysées Mermoz hotel, it is from a drawing printed on canvas that I created a mural installation. This reminds us of the spilling over of a world that is at other times circumscribed.
Complementing this, artworks on Altuglas, a typically urban synthetic material, will be dispatched throughout the space of the hall. My graphic vocabulary remains abstract. It comes intentionally from the digital tool and its specific nature. Universes reveal themselves and intertwine, similar and different, like cities. The round form of the mediums refers to current static representations. The “open data” is transformed into new approaches.
