PEINTURE2020MALEREI is a european research project that deals with the configuration of current and future trends in painting.
Established in 2008, it is the fruit of a collaboration between the art schools of Mayence (Kunsthochschule Mainz) and of Toulouse (ISDAT). PEINTURE2020MALEREI was launched by artists, who were joined by theoreticians, students and young graduates with the goal of determining the current state of painting, to clarify its conditions and dynamic, and also to anticipate its future, keeping in mind that from its very beginnings – cave art – painting has always been as much a driving force as a utopian movement directed by society.
A catalogue will be published by éditions Salon Verlag, Cologne.
